Launching a Profitable Store From Scratch: Week 1

I’m starting this with absolutely nothing — no followers, no email subscribers, no product, no website. Just me, my laptop, and a plan to build something real.

This post is part documentation, part roadmap. If you’re building from scratch too, you can follow along with my exact Week 1 plan and adapt it for yourself.

Step 1 — Get Clear on My Why

Before I dive into the *what* and *how*, I need to know the *why*. My motivation has to be strong enough to push me through the messy middle.

My why: To create a business that gives me freedom — time with my family, control over my schedule, and the ability to earn without burnout.

Step 2 — Define the Big Vision (No Overthinking)

  • Write down what I want the business to look like in 12 months.
  • List the lifestyle goals this business will support.
  • Brainstorm the types of products/services that could get me there.

Step 3 — Pick the First Offer

I’m not creating a giant product range. Just one simple, high-value offer I can launch quickly. This will either be:

  • A digital product (like a template or guide)
  • A mini-course
  • A service that’s easy to deliver

Week 1 is about choosing and validating the idea, not creating it yet.

Step 4 — Set Up a Simple Online Home

  • Claim my domain name.
  • Set up a one-page site with an email opt-in.
  • Install basic analytics to track visitors.
Pro Tip: Your first website doesn’t need to be perfect. Done is better than pixel-perfect — you can refine it later.

Step 5 — Create 3–5 Pieces of Content

Content will be the bridge between “no one knows me” and “I have an audience.” My plan:

  • Two short TikTok videos introducing what I’m building.
  • One blog post about my niche or problem I’m solving.
  • One Pinterest pin linking to my email opt-in.

Step 6 — Engage (Not Just Post)

Instead of shouting into the void, I’ll spend 20–30 minutes a day engaging with people in my niche — commenting, responding to posts, and adding value to conversations.

Step 7 — End-of-Week Review

At the end of Week 1, I’ll review:

  • How much content I created.
  • How many people visited my site.
  • How many email subscribers I got.

Final Thoughts

This is just Week 1. It’s about momentum, not perfection. By the end of this week, I’ll have my foundation set — so I can focus on creating and launching my first offer in the weeks ahead.

If you want the full step-by-step system I’ll be following to go from zero to launch, that’s exactly what I teach inside the Self-Made Method.
